I've tried bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot, but neither of those worked. I searched the forums earlier to find solutions to this problem, but Startup Repair would run for varying amounts of time, but it would always say that it could not repair the system. Startup Repair, which I've since run multiple times throughout the day. Each time I did this, I got the option of running I couldn't turn off or reboot the laptop, except for taking out the battery and reinserting it. When I went to turn on my laptop today, it got to the "Starting Windows" screen, and nothing else happened. My laptop did work after the process ran for around an hour or so. I should also mention that I did encounter the Startup Repair menu during one of these instances, but To be safe, I shut it down and restarted it a couple of times, until I eventually gave up for the night. Last night, I was trying to install a game with a downloader from the website I bought it from (In case it helps, I was using the GOG.com Installer to download a 709 MB game onto my flash drive). (I'm also typing this from a library computer.) I know this has been made into a thread many times before, but I've spent all day trying to fix my laptop, and I'm just one more "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically." from simply giving up and smashing my laptop with a large hammer.
